UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: Consideration of the Report of Tunisia (1989)

The Committee considered Tunisia’s initial report on articles 10-12 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in 1989. During the session, members of the Committee asked whether there were ‘problems connected with drug addiction and transmission of the AIDS virus’ in Tunisia (paragraph 128). The representative of Tunisia replied that cases of drug addiction and AIDS were rare, but the government had established a programme for the prevention and detection of AIDS (paragraph 129).
