UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: Consideration of the Report of Sweden (1991)

The Committee considered Sweden’s second periodic report concerning articles 13-15 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in 1991. During the session, the Committee asked whether any programmes had been implemented in Sweden ‘to combat the drug problem’ (paragraph 239). The representative of Sweden noted that ‘students were regularly informed of the dangers of drug abuse’ and that individual cases were dealt with by social services in cooperation with schools, police, and non-governmental organizations (paragraph 246).
