UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: Concluding Observations on Portugal (2000)

The Committee issued these concluding observations after consideration of Portugal’s third periodic report in 2000. In paragraph 416, the Committee notes concern at the increase in child pornography and paedophilia, and states that these ‘phenomena are associated with the increase in drug trafficking and consumption and other criminal activities’. In paragraph 424, the Committee recommends that Portugal ‘intensify its efforts to prevent drug addiction among young people’.
