UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: Concluding Observations on Mauritius (1995)

The Committee issued these concluding observations in 1995, after considering the initial report of Mauritius. In paragraph 240, the Committee expresses concern at the rise in alcohol and drug abuse in Mauritius. In paragraph 245, the Committee then recommends in-depth study – including through gathering information and statistics – on alcohol and drug abuse and how Mauritius ‘can best protect and ensure the economic, social and cultural rights’ of individuals affected by those problems.
