Report of the International Narcotics Control Board for 1994: Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the International Drug Control Treaties (1995)

This article is an excerpt from 1994 INCB Annual Report. In this article authors tried to evaluate the effectiveness of the international drug control treaties. The first part of the article addresses the changes in drug abuse and illicit trafficking problems, and international response to them. The second and third parts of the article identify areas of the international drug control regime that could potentially be improved, and what further adjustments could be made into the regime. The forth part is dedicated to the issue of monitoring of the implementation of the international drug control treaties. The article concludes with recommendations to concerned stakeholders.
