Jesus Barraza Zavala v. Mexico, IACHR (1999)

The Commission ordered precautionary measures pursuant to a complaint by Mr. Barraza Zavala, a Mexican journalist, of death threats from members of the judicial police in Sonora.  Mr. Barraza Zavala reported previously on the corrupt practices of the institution and their ties with drug trafficking.  The National Human Rights Commission was in contact twice daily with the journalist and measures were to be ongoing.
