Schöps v Germany, ECHR (2001)

The applicant is Jörg Schöps, a German national born in 1953 and living in Essen. He was arrested in 1990 on allegations of drug-related offenses. The case concerns the applicant's complaint that, in the proceedings for the review of his detention on remand, his defence counsel had no access to the criminal files.  The applicant invokes Article 5 para. 4 of the Convention.
