United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (adopted 20 November 1989, entered into force 02 September 1990) 1577 UNTS 3

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted in 1989, and it is the most widely ratified treaty in history. The only countries that have not signed it are the United States and Somalia.

The CRC reaffirms children's  right to a childhood, to be educated, to be healthy, to be treated fairly and to be heard.
