UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women, Concluding Observations on the Eighth Periodic Report of Ukraine

In its concluding observations and recommendations, the Committee recognises the State's efforts to reform the healthcare system and respond to the humanitarian crisis, in particular the introduction of mobile units for victims of violence. In paragraph 38(c), the Committee raises its concerns about the increase in tuberculosis, HIV and other STDs and the number of women who are dependent on drugs and alcohol. In paragraph 39(c), the Committee recommends that the State party intensifies the implementation of strategies which tackle the consumption of drugs and alcohol among women.
