UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, Concluding Observations on the Fifth Report of Italy (October 2015)

The UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights issued these concluding observations in October 2015, following the fifth periodic report of Italy. The Committee acknowledges the State's ratification of the Optional Protocol of the ICESCR, as well as various international human rights instruments. 

These concluding observations also set out a series of subjects for concern and recommendations to the state. Topics covered are concerns regarding various state practices, discrimination against marginalized groups, worker's rights, women's rights, violence against women and girls, poverty, right to housing, Roma people, right to health, obesity, right to education and cultural rights.
