UNGASS 2016 on The World Drug Problem, Khalid Tinast (2015)

This visiting fellow working paper was published by the The Graduate Institute Geneva: Global Health Programme in 2015 as a preparation to the UNGASS 2016.

The paper reviews UN agencies, and other international agencies based in Geneva in relation to drug control, as well as making recommendations as to what the different agencies should do in preparation for the UNGASS 2016.

Topics covered in the paper range from the recommends to the WHO, HRC and OHCHR, UNAIDS, ILO, UNHCR, and GFTAM. The focus of the paper is on specific measures that can be taken by these various agencies prior to the UNGASS 2016, so as to ensure that a dialogue is opened in relation to the correlation between public policy, human rights, and public health amongst UN member states.
