UN Committee on the Rights of Child, Concluding Observations on Malta (2013)

The Committee issued these concluding observations in 2013 after its consideration of the periodic report of Malta. It notes the existence of a national agency for prevention, treatment and rehabilitation services to persons with drug and alcohol problems. However, the Committee is concerned at the abuse of drugs and other substances among adolescents and it recommends the State to launch awareness-raising programmes and education campaigns against substance abuse (paragraphs 51 & 52).
