Report of the Special Rapporteur on the rights of indigenous people: Selected summaries of communications from 2001/2002, Rodolfo Stavenhagen (2002)

This report notes that indigenous people in Colombia have been threatened and killed by the military, paramilitaries, and 'drug traffic-related violence'. It also notes that indigenous people in Ecuador have 'suffered repercussions from the violence in neighbouring Colombia and the “war on drugs”.' The report highlights also cases in Mexico, but does not mention drug-related violence there.
