UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, Concluding Observations on the Fourth Periodic Report of Iraq (October 2015)

The UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights issued these concluding observations in October 2015, following the fourth periodic report of Iraq. The Committee acknowledged the State's ratification of various international human rights instruments, as well as appreciate the State's legislative and policy measures taken to promote economic, social and cultural rights. 

These concluding observations also set out a series of subjects of concerns and recommendations to the State. Topics covered are concerns regarding state practices, land disputed in the Kurdistan region, discrimination against marginalized groups, women's rights including gender based violence, worker's rights, children's rights, right to housing, right to food, right to health, right to education and cultural heritage.
