Report by the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, Bacre Waly Ndiaye (1993)

This report presents among other things the summaries of cases transmitted to the Governments and the replies received from them. It mentions that the death penalty is applied for drug related offences in several countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia) and more, that the fair trial guarantees are not observed (see paragraphs 350, 425, 471 and 519).

It also emphasizes that drug traffickers in Colombia, Costa Rica and Peru have increased their influence by establishing links with armed opposition groups and that the fight against them resulted in extrajudicial executions.
