This report presents the findings and recommendations of the Working Group on its mission to Georgia. It notes the disproportionate severity of sentences of imprisonment in relation to the alleged crimes committed (including for drug use offences). As the use of illegal drugs is criminalized in Georgia, there are a lot of drug users sentenced to long detentions for an average of six to seven years.
