Perspectives on the development dimensions of drug control policy, UNDP (2015)

Date: 01 March 2015

This document produced by the UNDP addresses the failure of the current system of drug control and its negative impact on humans’ lives. Besides the ‘unintended consequences’ already recognized by the UNODC, there are additional consequences of the law enforcement practices which affect the human development.

The report suggests different approaches to drug control, based on sustainable development. It also highlights the opportunity provided by the 2016 UNGASS to address the flaws in the current drug policies.
