Report of the Secretary General: Question of the Death Penalty (2014)

The Secretary General's annual report on the question of the death penalty continued to raise concerns related to the application of the death penalty for drug offenses.  Importantly noting that drug-related offenses do not meet the threshold of most serious crimes.  He highlighted the arbitrary and discriminatory nature of the practice worldwide and called for the abolition of the practice for drug crimes.
