Edwin Stratton v. United Kingdom

Edwin Stratton, a UK disabled medical-cannabis user Edwin Stratton, 43, is seeking recognition from national and regional courts that the government has wrongly administrated the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.  The Drug Equality Alliance, assisting Mr. Stratton in the presentation of his case to the High Court, stated the aim was to  'achieve equal protection and equal rights for all users of equally-harmful drugs.' The arguments were rejected by the UK courts but he appealed  to the European Court of Human Rights in 2011. He additionally submitted that he was subjected to an unfair trial process.
