This report contains the findings and recommendations of the Special Rapporteur on his mission to Burundi. It notes the high level of impunity within the country, which generates political violence and violations of human rights. The Special Rapporteur also presents cases of extrajudicial killings, mentioning that very few perpetrators have been brought to justice.
He expresses concerns about the involvement of youths aged 12 to 20 in gangs and their participation in violent activities under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
